5K Goal is Surpassed...$58,771.55 and Still Counting!

We are only a little over a week away from the TCMM 55th Anniversary Alumni Homecoming on August 30 – 31, 2008 (Labor Day Weekend). We are looking forward to this great time of fun and fellowship with hundreds of Mansion friends and TCMM alumni. We will be honored to have two of our
former presidents with us, the Kloeppers and the Drurys who have left a lasting legacy to this ministry.

If you haven't watched our 30-minute interview with WTVA, it has now been uploaded to the homepage of our Web site at http://www.tcmm.org. I think you will find the program very interesting as we talk about the Homecoming Celebration and the mission of the Mansion.

We have two digital billboards playing in three key locations in Tupelo. These can be changed and updated by Burton Gaar, our Director of Corporate Relations, at any moment from a computer.

There still is time to register for the 5K and 2K run. You can also register the day of the race from 6:30 A.M. – 7:30 A.M. Registration will be closed promptly at 7:30 A.M. The registration table will be located in front of
Hansford Hall. The 5K run will begin at the first driveway to the Mansion. The run will take you through several streets behind the Mansion property and end at the pavilion on the athletic field.

I am happy to announce that I have surpassed my personal goal of raising $55,000.00 in sponsorships for the 5K run. As of this writing, I have raised $58,771.55. I have been overwhelmed with the flood of support that
has come in. Donations are coming in daily, and we still have 10 days to go. All together, we have raised nearly $75,000.00 in sponsorships! If you haven't sponsored yet, and want to get on the fun, go to http://www.mansionevents.org/stephenjudd.

Back to our Saturday activities...at 11:00 A.M., there will be an Outdoor Extravaganza on the athletic field which will include a picnic catered by O’Charley’s restaurant, children’s games, inflatables, pony rides, horseshoes, and volleyball and softball. We would love for everyone to be involved in our official alumni softball game. Jonathan Moore, of San Antonio, Texas, and other artists will be singing during the activities.

We will have an open house and campus tours starting at 1:00 P.M. There will be two tours given at 1:00 P.M. – 2:00 P.M. and from 2:00 P.M. – 3:00 P.M. Numerous renovations have been done to many of the buildings. You will want to see the improvements that have been made and that continue to be made to our beautiful campus.

The first meeting of our new, official Alumni Association will be at 3:00 P.M. in the church. Organizational matters will be taken care of, including the adoption of bylaws and election of officers for the Alumni Association. All alumni from TCA, TCM, and Life Church are encouraged to
Rex Johnson, Special Guestattend. There will be day care provided for alumni children from ages six weeks to four. There will be ladies in the church to meet you with your babies.

The highlight of our homecoming will be the 55th Anniversary Celebration on Saturday evening at 6:30 P.M. at the new BancorpSouth Conference Center behind the Hilton Garden Inn.
The dress is dressy-casual so we can be comfortable and have a good time. This will be a fun-filled evening with lots of music and memories. A fabulous reception with great food and entertainment will follow.

Of course, all are invited to attend the Sunday morning service at Life Church at 10:00 A.M. Come worship with us before heading home! Rex Johnson, of Austin, Texas will be our Special Guest and Jonathan Moore, of San Antonio, Texas will be our featured artist for the entire weekend of activities.

Please tell all of your friends about this wonderful weekend with our Mansion family. Feel free to forward this blog. Have them visit us at http://www.tcmm.org or call us at 662-791-7705 for more information.
